The typical integration platform based on BizTalk then it would look something like the below diagram.
In the platform we are mainly looking at integration solutions developed with the features which come from within the BizTalk product itself. We may combine with other technologies for some scenarios:
- BizTalk + SSIS = ETL Scenarios
- BizTalk + HIS = Mainframe Integration
- BizTalk + WCF = API and Web Service Integration
Other than the above scenarios, most use cases would use out of the Box BizTalk features.
