There are many different perspectives of various analysts such as Gartner and Forrester, etc in relation to the state of the industry around topics which fall within our areas of interest.

One of the most common ways people keep up with analyst perspectives on vendors within the industry is things like the Gartner Magic Quadrants. These are produced on a semi-regular basis and take feedback from customers and the analysts own views on the technology offering from a vendor and then they attempt to position vendors in a way to help customers have some kind of sense of who is better than who.

These kind of reports have some value but you must remember they are a snapshot in time of vendors who are often releasing new stuff weekly.

Another good source of info to get a flavour of what people think of vendors is the Gartner Peer Insights which are more about just customer feedback. Below are the two lists for iPaaS and Data Integration:
